This game is pure Playstation 2, it’s got nice 3D movement on semi-static environments, a big spooky interface, bold puppeteer-esque facial animations, and, confidently, no voice acting. In 2006 you probably wouldn’t have compared Shin Megami Tensei: Raidou Kuzunoha Vs. The Soulless Army to its contemporary Japanese action titles like Kingdom Hearts 2 or Devil May Cry, and, I wouldn’t say you’d be wrong. It’s a semi-episodic, historical fiction, hard-boiled detective, Pokemon devil game. Even if it does feel as though the Raidou series was meant to last a lot longer, this game and it’s sequel are perfectly preserved gems.
