Halo meets Portal is the design ethos and selling point of Splitgate: Arena Warfare. With a goal that is so unabashedly about smashing two good things together, it isn’t hard to imagine an outcome that feels spiritless. That’s not the case here. Spligate is about as great an expression of “What if we put portals in a Halo game?” as possible. Every weapon has a situational use and they feel good to use. The arenas are all designed around the use of portals to enhance the firefights and traversal. Splitgate is how a team follows through on a good idea.
