The original Digimon World is an adventure through a charming and immersive world from the PlayStation era. File Island teems with life thanks to its wide variety of biomes, their quirky architecture, and the bizarre titular monsters. The music and inhabitants even change to correspond with the time of day. The monster raising process is notoriously hands off and gives you precious few clues on how to proceed but the trial and error adds to the sense of accomplishment. Watching your city flourish as you recruit new residents makes the effort feel worth it. Plus, the collectible cards are cool.
