I can’t stop thinking about Spec Ops: The Line. With some of the most ambitious storytelling not just for a shooter, but for its time, your perception of international conflict, imperialism, and the military will be challenged. While it plays like another early-2010s-Gears-of-War-inspired cover shooter, it has some nifty strategic elements that you’ll be utilizing often given how scarce ammo can be. Even though its multiple endings could’ve been more impactful, Spec Ops will likely be the game that radicalizes you. Spec Ops does what Call Of Duty is scared to do, and that’s confronting the real horrors of war.
