Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a direct sequel to the excellent Path of Radiance and features gameplay virtually identical to that game, apart from the unusual inclusion of powerful third-tier promotions for many of its classes. However, it has the most bloated roster of any Fire Emblem game you could name, which introduces a new set of gameplay sacrifices, including poor unit availability and severely neutered support conversations. For a series that is lauded for cozy character interactions, this is a tough sell. Radiant Dawn is an uneven game that is nonetheless an enjoyable play if you overlook its weaknesses.
