While it is the seventh entry, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade was the first of the series to leave Japan. A good thing too, as this title learns from the awkward transition phase from The Binding Blade and is a solid SRPG. Characters move about a checkerboard field and players need to worry about the rock/paper/scissors style combat when attacking. Characters can permanently die too, which leads to a lot of praying that the RNG rolls to your advantage. You can’t grind, either. This title is a solid representative of what FE what before Awakening shifted mechanics around.
